My name is Irina Kushnerova.

I have emigrated from Belarus in 1991 with my family and put down roots in the beautiful city of Chicago. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree from the Loyola University – Chicago in Bio-Chemistry, I decided to turn my passion to funeral service. I attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science, graduated with honors, joined Pi Sigma Eta National Morticians Fraternity, Omega Chapter, and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2000. I am also a licensed Advance Funeral Planner.

It would take some time for me to fully explain and for someone to understand the intricacies of this career. Put simply, this work is not for everyone. It takes enormous commitment and dedication.

After more than 15 years working for a corporate conglomerate, I opened my own funeral service business in 2012, IKare Funerals & Cremations, Inc. I have dedicated myself to serve the families with care and compassion. I never take the loss of a loved one lightly; I help people through a difficult time.

Through many years of experience, I have learned that people who have just lost a loved one need to talk about the person and what that person meant to them. The families often share their last moments together, details of the illness or other factors that contributed to death. They talk about the past, present, and contemplate what the future might have been. People are simply trying to work through their pain and put the pieces together. This is why I became a funeral director. Each experience has taught me a new lesson and helped me gain the true meaning of happiness and sorrow, of “lending a helping hand.”

At IKare Funerals & Cremations, you will find the best quality service at a fair price. You will find a funeral director who understands the uniqueness of each family and who focuses on helping you personalize a meaningful service and not just arrange a funeral.

Outside of my profession, I have a family: my husband Tony and son Zayden. I am an avid traveler, fervent foodie and a beginner blogger. I am an active member and a passionate advocate of the Make-a-Wish Foundation and World Vision.

I am here for you 24/7!
